At last months EICMA motorcycle show Triumph motorcycles debuted the much anticipated Triumph Tiger Explorer, their challenger to the all conquering BMW R 1200 GS.
With an all-new 1215cc three-cylinder engine producing 137PS with 121Nm of torque, a new ride-by-wire electronic throttle, cruise control, plus switchable traction control and switchable ABS are standard fitment. A tough shaft drive system has been developed,togther with 10,000 miles between servicing.
This will undoubtedly prove to a compelling option for many adventure sports riders and it will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the BMW GS over time?

Ducati1199 Panigale
Earlier this month Ducati announced the launch of their new superbike the Ducati 1199 Panigale, which they have shown this month to the public at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan and the Motorcycle Live Show at the Birmingham NEC. Ducati say this bike sets a new benchmark in the motorcycle industry. It is the most high tech, most powerful twin-cylinder production engine on the planet with an astonishing 195hp from 164kg (361.5lb) of futuristic Italian thoroughbred. The highest production motorcycle power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratios in the world!

Benelli launches new models
Legendary Italian motorcycle and scooter manufacturer Benelli has recently launched a number of new models including a 250cc scooter called the Caffènero 250. Read their full press release here.

Any Jeep owner has probably considered converting his hard top cover into a soft top. The decrease in weight can result in better gas mileage, as well as better stability. Another benefit is the driving experience with a soft top, being closer to the elements. The Bestops cover is one of the most popular brands for converting hard top Jeeps into soft tops.
Hard Top Removal
The first step in installing the Bestops cover is the removal of the hard top, which should always be done carefully to avoid damaging the hard top and to avoid damaging the connections. Most soft covers for Jeeps are designed to depend on the connection brackets for the Jeep once the hard cover has been taken off.
Temperature
Because of the material that is used for the construction of the Bestops cover, the best temperature of the cover and the environment is around 72 degrees Fahrenheit. The ambient temperature of the environment and the material is directly related to the pliability of the cover as it's installed. The easier it is to stretch the material, the easier it will be to install it correctly.
Fit
Whenever the cover is installed on the vehicle, it is imperative that the fit of the cover to the vehicle is completely inspected and that the fit is correct to the vehicle. After all of the instructions that accompany the cover have been followed, the fit should be tested for leakage or any possible air entrance, which could cause drag and negate the increased gas mileage from the installation of the Bestop cover.
